Brisbane is experiencing a second day of heavy traffic delays after a car struck a pole on Thursday morning.

A car has struck a pole in the south-east Brisbane suburb of Mackenzie, causing heavy traffic delays.

Both northbound lanes on Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road, about 100 metres from Grieve Road, were closed as Energex workers tried to restore electricity.4BC traffic reporter Olympia Kwitowski said traffic was backed up to Newham Road, Wishart, Alpertone Road at Burbank and causing delays on the Gateway Motorway northbound and the Pacific Motorway to Belmont.
