A multi-vehicle crash that left a car on its roof forced three of the four southbound lanes on the Pacific Motorway to close on Thursday afternoon, with resulting traffic delays peaking at 30 kilometres.

Emergency services were called to the M1 southbound just after 2.15pm on Thursday to a truck and car crash, between the Ormeau and Yatala exits.A woman in her 30s was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with abdominal pain, while a man in his 30s went to the same hospital with facial cuts and a lower leg injury.A third patient was checked by paramedics, but found to be uninjured, and they declined transport to hospital.

Despite three of the four southbound lanes reopening about 5.20pm, by this time the delays had extended to 30 kilometres at the peak of the evening commute. The fourth southbound lane reopened about 7.10pm after the crash scene was cleared. At this time, delays had reduced, but still snaked back 20 kilometres.
