Former world boxing champion Carl Frampton has hit out at comments made by ex manager Barry McGuigan as ‘very, very egotistical’. It came after a Sunday Times interview with McGuigan where he claimed The Jackal “knows he could not have achieved anything without me or my family”. The relationship between the two former world champions broke down in 2017 when Frampton left McGuigan’s Cyclone Promotions after eight years before signing as a fighter for the now-defunct MTK firm, once run by mob boss Daniel Kinahan. The dispute led to a high-profile multi-million pound legal battle, which was settled in November 2020.
