Transport Minister Catherine King has reasserted that her decision to block Qatar Airways’ request to land extra flights into Australia was made in the national interest rather than a commercial one.
Asked whether the searching of a group of Australian women by Qatari authorities at Doha Airport in 2021 had influenced her decision, King said there was not one single factor that prompted her to reject Qatar Airways’ request for more flights.
