The ABC revealed Carol Stewart, the wife of Queensland Police Commissioner Ian Stewart, was issued an infringement notice for running a stop sign in the Sandgate district, north of Brisbane, but it wasThe Crime and Corruption Commission Queensland said in a statement on Friday afternoon it had completed an assessment of complaints based on"media reporting".

As part of the investigation, the CCC said it reviewed correspondence between the Queensland Police Service and Ms Stewart and interviewed the officer involved. "The letter revealed a detailed knowledge of the relevant statutory provisions and procedures relating to the issuing of infringement notices, consistent with Ms Stewart's long career as an employee of the Department of Transport and from her earlier career as a police officer."
