Damage to SailGP equipment and a boat during a wild 15 minute storm last night resulted in the cancellation of today’s Australia Sail Grand Prix. The Bureau of Meteorology recorded a wind gust of 70km/h on Sydney Harbour at 6:48pm. Sydney 7NEWS
Organisers confirmed late on Saturday that three races were sufficient to constitute an event and for points to be allocated.
France’s perfect performance on Saturday lifted them into third above Great Britain, with Denmark a further four points back in fifth. All three of Saturday’s scheduled races were completed with France taking out top place in all three.Australia had mechanical problems and the start of race one was delayed to give them some more practice time.
