Storms are expected to develop late Saturday evening, and though officials aren’t certain where it will occur, the strongest of the storms will be capable of producing damaging hail and strong wind gusts, weather officials said.
Weather officials were expecting thunderstorms producing wind gusts up to 65ph to roll into portions of central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana Saturday afternoon.
Some of the thunderstorms may produce ping-pong size hail capable of damaging vehicles. The gusty thunderstorms were predicted to hit late Saturday afternoon along and south of a La Salle to Rensselaer line, officials said.
