Acting Assistant Commissioner Stephen Taylor says there are more than 2,200 South Australians on the child sex offenders register.South Australian police have arrested 13 sex offenders for possessing child exploitation material, in a statewide sweep during National Child Protection Week.
Officers looked for any evidence of breaches to the Child Sex Offenders Registration Act, which has a range of obligations from maintaining internet user accounts to having contact with children. Of those 13 people allegedly possessed child exploitation material, with six of them remanded in custody to face court at a later date.
