Chris Hemsworth, best known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is among the 252 people to be made a Member of the Order of Australia as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Actor Chris Hemsworth has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for his significant service to the performing arts and charitable organisations.
The 37-year-old has been a patron of the Australian Childhood Foundation since 2009, donated $1 million to help fight the Black Summer bushfires in 2020 and supports conservation initiatives alongside his wife Elsa Pataky, including AussieArk and WildArk. Hemsworth learned the ropes on Australian sets, appearing in several well-known local productions before moving to Los Angeles.Hemsworth's first credited role was as King Arthur in short-lived television series Guinevere Jones, which aired on Channel 10 in 2002.
In a right-of-passage for all Australian actors, Hemsworth had a role on the popular TV series Neighbours.
