While George Christensen says he spent time visiting his fiancée and helping to raise funds for charity, David_Speers says there’s ‘no getting around the problem’ of the marginal seat MP spending this much time outside his electorate. Speers

Sky News political editor David Speers says many in George Christensen’s electorate ‘might wish he focussed more on his own backyard’, amid revelations the Nationals MP spend 294 days over a four-year period in the Philippines. Mr Christensen spent more time in the Philippines than he did in parliament for two of those years, the Herald Sun reports.

While the MP says he spent time visiting his fiancée and helping to raise funds for charity, Mr Speers says there’s ‘no getting around the problem’ of the marginal seat MP spending this much time outside his electorate.
