A Dunsborough family's Christmas plans were altered after their three-year-old son, Riley Coyne, was diagnosed with blood cancer six months ago. The Coyne family is staying at the Leukaemia Foundation's accommodation in Innaloo while Riley undergoes treatment at the Perth Children's Hospital. While they are grateful for the support and close proximity to the hospital, the family faces the unknown this Christmas
Christmas for a Dunsborough family was very different this year after three-year-old Riley Coyne was diagnosed with blood cancer six months ago. The Coyne family’s life was turned upside down when they received the news their son had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia however, thanks to the support of the Leukaemia Foundation, the family have a place to call home while Riley undergoes treatment in Perth.
” The Coyne’s are staying at the Leukaemia Foundation’s Stirling Cross Blood Cancer Centre accommodation in Innaloo while Riley undergoes the critical first year of treatment at the Perth Children’s Hospital. “It was really important for us to be close to the hospital during the first year,” she said. “To have somewhere to stay with our own space is amazing. “Riley is immunocompromised so having our own space where we could manage the environment was critical.
