Church leaders will preach a message of hope to parishioners this Christmas after they have faced two years of uncertainty and adversity.
Catholic Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher said Christmas was “our chance to renew our hope, to look forward to a better 2022, to an end to pandemic and the infinite possibilities of the future”.“The offer is real, tangible, personal, even physical,” he said. “After two years of isolation, we need it more than ever. In such dark times, Christmas is a ray of light, a sliver of hope.”
“It will be an extra challenge as we prepare for Christmas; creating and crafting worship for our congregation and community after finding our way in this uncertain terrain in which we have found ourselves. Many of us were confronted by bushfires two years ago, so we have been working ourselves out for a while.”
