The daughters of Alice Bradley*, a 79-year-old woman with dementia, allege that a doctor at Toowoomba Hospital did not examine their mother with a rape kit as the practitioner feared she 'might think' she 'had been sexually assaulted'.
Australia's medical board has ordered a Queensland doctor to undertake further education after the daughters of an elderly patient claimed a hospital failed to perform a rape examination and denied police access after an alleged sexual assault .
AHPRA confirmed conditions had been placed on the doctor's registration, but would not be drawn on why they were imposed. Ms Griffin said her mother was visibly distressed and alleged the man had been sexually assaulting her. She then spotted blood stains on the bed. The doctor must also review legislation for health practitioners regarding managing alleged sexual assaults.
