The sale, by LJ Hooker’s father and son team David and BJ Edwards, almost doubles the $9.2 million Szangolies paid for it five years ago when he too was freshly cashed up after private equity interests bought his Urban Purveyor Group.Proving that Snapperman Beach homeowners often sell but rarely leave the Pittwater waterfront, Szangolies is moving up the road, where last month he bought the long-held weekender of Virginia Nelson, wife of the late tobacco magnate Arthur Nelson, for $27 million.
