A teenage boy has suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle as he walked across a road in a regional town on Friday night.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are on the scene and have warned motorists to avoid the area as the road will remain closed for some time. Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have dash cam footage or nearby businesses with CCTV to come forward.
