More than 12,000 migrants are homeless on the Greek island of Lesbos after fleeing fires that gutted their overcrowded camp, which had been under a COVID-19 lockdown.
The whereabouts of 35 migrants who tested positive for COVID-19 in the camp this week were unknown.
The cause of the fires was not yet known but authorities are investigating whether they were started deliberately. While Indonesia has recorded more deaths from the coronavirus than any other South-East Asian country, it also has seen by far the most fatalities among medical workers in the region. The deaths of so many of its doctors from COVID-19 will impact the country's healthcare workforce for years to come, said Nurul Nadia, a public health expert from the Centre for Indonesia's Strategic Development Initiatives, an organisation that focuses on health.
