Four or five new coronavirus outbreaks are emerging in Victoria each day, the state's Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton says.6 cases linked to LaManna supermarket in Essendon, which is closed;
"I’m not going to be complacent about today’s number. It is great that it is lower than our peak, but we may not have reached our peak yet," he said. "We need to stop it getting to the point where we have thousands of people in hospital and hundreds and hundreds of people needing a machine to breathe.
""We need to acknowledge this is a clever enemy. So many people have this and have very moderate symptoms. It's so wildly infectious, we've all got to play our part. That's how we'll get to the other side of this, that's how we'll defeat the virus."The numbers are in - Victoria has recorded 177 new coronavirus cases today.Of those 177 cases, 25 are connected to known outbreaks, while 151 remain under investigation.
Anoulack Chanthivong, member for the state seat of Macquarie Fields, announced he would also be completing a self-isolation period after having dinner at the pub last Monday night.
