Ellie Leach is being supported by her Coronation Street co-stars after she was axed earlier this year.
Coronation Street stars are planning to do everything in their power to get Ellie Leach into the Strictly Come Dancing final.
Ellie played Faye Windass in the ITV soap and left the soap after 12 years when 'producers no longer saw a future for her character'. The actress told The Mirror: "It's always going to be scary leaving somewhere that you've been for a long, long time, but I also think with risk comes reward. So as much as it will be sad, you can't live in that fear."
The insider told The Sun: “It was made clear to her earlier this year they didn’t see a future for her character so she was left with no choice. At the time she said she had quit but it was always seen as an axe. The source continued: “It definitely wasn’t Ellie’s decision to go, put it that way. The feeling among cast was bosses could have found new storylines to keep her character arc rolling and she deserved that after so long on the soap.
