Anthony Albanese’s first Question Time has kicked off with Liberal leader Peter Dutton accusing the government of siding with “corrupt and criminal” construction union bosses over Aussie homebuyers.

The government has pledged to abolish the Australian Building and Construction Commission and has already started the legislative process to kill it off.

Master Builders Australia has pleaded with the government not to abolish the watchdog and argued the sector needed “industry-specific regulation” and that the move would have dire economic outcomes. It comes as a photo of Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong was uncovered by The Australian showing her with disgraced union official Scott Vink.
