More than a third of adults have begun to struggle financially in the grip of the cost of living crisis, finds a ‘wealth and wellbeing survey.
‘Rising energy prices are becoming a significant problem for many people, and many families with young children and low income households are struggling.’
About six in ten adults have seen an increase in their supermarket spending, while three in ten are saving less – the same proportion who are spending less money on socialising. A package of support measures for eight million households will begin next Thursday, with the first half of a £650 payment for those on low incomes from the Department for Work and Pensions.
