New court documents have revealed disturbing allegations about a Canberra man's violent attacks on his heavily pregnant partner, including that he also attacked the couple's seven-year-old child.
The 30-year-old Canberra man's bids for bail in the ACT Magistrates Court have now been exhausted, meaning he will remain behind bars until later this year.A Canberra man is denied his last opportunity for bail before any hearing for charges allegedly committed against his heavily pregnant partner, including aggravated assault and aggravated intentional threat to kill.
He is facing a multitude of charges including choking, aggravated assault, confinement and aggravated intentional threat to kill. She told police she had never complained about her partner's alleged violent attacks on her, including some committed in public, because "those people never said anything or checked on her, so she didn't think anyone would care".
New details released in court documents include allegations the man also attacked the couple's seven-year-old child. According to police when they went to investigate the man was hostile and verbally abusive, and wouldn't let them into the house, telling them the woman wasn't there.Eventually, the man said the woman could talk to police at Tuggernong Station, but he allegedly made her wear heavy makeup to cover her bruised eyes, and ordered her not say anything that would incriminate him.
The man is alleged to have said to her she had ruined his life by being pregnant and by not getting him to the airport for his flight.
