State premiers and territory leaders are currently fixated on the heath outcomes of the pandemic but in doing so are allowing “their economies to tank” according to Sky News host Peter Gleeson.
Mr Gleeson spoke of a newly released Menzies Research Centre paper, which spoke of weighing up the costs and benefits of the removal or installation of restrictions to deal with the pandemic.
“The bottom line is that in time of crisis like these, the best political leaders adopt pragmatism and look at both sides of the ledger – health and economics,” he said. “It’s the greatest challenge of our generation, whichever way you look at it”. Image: Getty
