has said she was “hugely concerned” at the circumstances of funerals and burials of people who had died from the disease at the height of the pandemic.
During the last preliminary hearing before the inquiry starts taking oral evidence from witnesses next week, Lady Hallett revealed she has been watching a number of “impact films” which have been created to accompany the process of live public testimonies. But Lady Hallett said she had tried to ensure that families were “at the heart of this inquiry” but that there were “constraints upon me from the start”, including evidence-taking from dozens of witnesses and tens of thousands of documents.
