A fire blazed on the banks of the River Torrens behind Adelaide Oval following a fireworks show in front of 50,000 spectators.
Khan smashed 40 runs from 18 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes, to bring the Strikers within touching distance of a remarkable victory.The 9pm Elder Park fireworks show ended with a fire in nearby reeds, about 100 metres from the live televised cricket game.
Thousands of spectators, including family and children, looked on in shock as the flames grew to approximately eight metres in height. The fire was thankfully extinguished a few minutes later by a fireworks technician carrying a water hose. The 50,000-strong crowd applauded the technician following the incident.
