14/07/2020The ‘All Lives Matter’ pro-police rally outside Trump Tower was held in response to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s failure to address the rising crime rate in New York, Daily Telegraph columnist Miranda Devine says. Following Black Lives Matter demonstrations, the Mayor slashed spending to the New York police department and introduced changes to disciplinary action for officers, despite a major rise in criminal activity.

Ms Devine said Mayor de Blasio “is doing nothing about the doubling in homicides going on”. “A one-year-old boy was shot dead last night in Brooklyn with a drive by shooting,” she told Sky News host Alan Jones. “This is happening all the time and something like six people were shot and killed in the last couple of days”.
