Cyclone season has come early. While the official start of cyclone season isn't until November, Tropical Cyclone Lola has formed off Fiji. It has the potential to intensify to a Category 3 storm but the Bureau of Meteorology says it is not expected to still be a tropical cyclone when it reaches Australian water."This system is expected to remain well offshore of the Queensland coast before it weakens later in the week," the bureau said."An upper low may induce a surface low off the southern Queensland or northern New South Wales coast during Thursday or Friday.

"The low will combine with a strong ridge from a very strong high south of Australia to produce a strong and cool southeasterly wind change over most of Queensland towards the end of the week."
