Scandal-rocked chief to leave role two years early after losing support of London mayor, Sadiq Khan
Dame Cressida Dick has been forced out as commissioner of theafter a series of scandals and a public falling out with the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
She used a radio interview on Thursday to reveal she had sent the mayor a plan last Friday. City Hall sources say Khan felt it was still inadequate and the Commissioner was told this. Khan effectively picked Dick as commissioner in 2017, thrilled by the historic legacy in the history of the Met, which was founded in 1829.
The London mayor was angered because of the 14 officers investigated at Charing Cross police station nine remain in the Met. Furthermore, two were promoted from constable to sergeant, one of whom had attended a misconduct meeting.
