‘I absolutely stand by it’: Premier defends rail entity after damning report | LucyCormack adele_ferguson Mattonews

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has backed a controversial rail corporation that was set up to shift billions of dollars off the state budget, despite a damning report by the Auditor-General about the government’s handling of the entity.

Ms Crawford said her office’s investigations were “hindered by errors and omissions in information and models” from Treasury. “I absolutely stand by it ... it’s not something that the NSW Treasury dreamed up. It’s something that has been followed and led in other jurisdictions.“The facts are very clear, and that is, the Auditor General, provided an unqualified account in relation to Treasury’s position on the Transport Asset Holdings Entity.”

In her report on Wednesday, Ms Crawford said there were in fact “substantive differences” between TAHE in NSW and other rail entities in Queensland and Victoria.
