Victorian Premier DanielAndrewsMP has 'finally accepted things have gone pear-shaped' according to The Australian's Political Reporter Dennis Shanahan.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has "finally accepted things have gone pear-shaped" according to The Australian's Political Reporter Dennis Shanahan. The state has received 1,000 additional ADF personnel to assist in containing the coronavirus outbreak. "This outbreak was always going to occur, Mr Shanahan said. "We had become complacent... quarantine had saved us an enormous amount of trouble.

"Of course the borders had to reopen, the economy had to reopen... the economy can't remain shut." Mr Shanahan said Australia would have to learn to live with the virus while reopening the economy arguing the taxpayer could no longer afford to continue to pay hundreds of billions of dollars to "keep people in work". "If we have to wear a mask as a symbol, it's a small price to pay to be back to work," he said.
