David Crisafulli will be sworn in as Queensland's premier today, vowing to legislate his key crime policy before the end of the year.
Queensland 's incoming premier David Crisafulli will visit Government House today to be formally sworn in to the state's top job after leading the LNP to an historic election victory.
Mr Crisafulli said there would be two sittings of parliament before the end of the year to ensure the new government could enact its proposed crime laws."There's no ifs, buts, or maybe," Mr Crisafulli said."We don't take it lightly and we intend to repay that faith in the way that we work and providing them with a government that does work for them," he said.
"From there our team will need to do the work of reconnecting with Queenslanders – particularly regional Queenslanders who clearly we have lost our connection with." "The result … was much better than expected, but clearly nowhere near sufficient for a Labor victory," Mr Miles said.As of late on Sunday, about ten seats remained in doubt, including Aspley, Capalaba, Gaven, Macalister, Mirani, Mulgrave, Pine River, Pumiceous, South Brisbane, and Springwood.
