The Premier League manager has won European silverware and admits that path is a suitable alternative to other routes.
David Moyes has told Celtic that Champions League wins against the world's best are going to prove more elusive with each passing year - as he points the Hoops and rivals Rangers to West Ham success.
Appearing on talkSPORT with Ally McCoist, the Rangers icon put his views to the Hammers boss on how competitive Celtic and his beloved club can be in Europe amid opponents boasting unimaginable resources. He said: "Realistically, I am of the opinion that clubs like West Ham, whether it be Brighton, even Rangers and Celtic, have no chance of winning the Champions League. Certainly Rangers and Celtic in the current climate.
Moyes was in unison with his former national team roommate and insisted that UCL victories against the elite are almost a pipe dream, with the Conference League an alternative for clubs with smaller budgets. He explained: "I agree with everything you are saying, Coisty. "But I look the year before what it meant to Jose Mourinho, they were the first winners of the competition.
