Jerry Nadler, the chair of the House Judiciary Committee, said the evidence showed Trump had "solicited and pressured Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 presidential election".He said this amounted to a high crime and misdemeanour - one of the thresholds for impeachment outlined in the US constitution."It is an impeachable offence for the President to exercise the powers of his public office to obtain improper personal benefit while ignoring or injuring the national interest.
