Two young children are missing from a home in Melbourne’s north-west following a daylight home invasion.

A police spokeswoman said armed crime squad detectives believe a man entered a home on Springfield Road in Blackburn North early on Monday while a woman and her two children, aged 5 and 3, were inside. “He has then stolen the family’s black 2014 Mercedes-Benz C200 sedan with registration BEQ 882, with CCTV showing he leaves the property just after 8.45am,” the spokeswoman said.

The two children, a girl aged 5 and a boy aged 3, are missing from the address. Both children are of Asian appearance.”The police spokeswoman said the wanted man is described as having dark skin and wearing a black hooded jumper and a face mask during the incident.

“A male resident of the address, who is not believed to have been at home at the time of the incident, is currently with police as well,” they said.Police are currently patrolling the nearby area in the hope of finding the children and the car.Detectives are also asking anyone who was travelling in the Blackburn North area from 8am on Monday, and who has dash cam, to please check the footage for any footage of this car.
