Witnesses describe the scene of a fatal crash involving a vehicle carrying 14 people, including 11 children, as “devastating.”
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner confirms 7-year-old Dai’Nya Wray died from injuries suffered when an SUV collided with a utility pole on Denison Avenue near West 58th Street in Cleveland Sunday afternoon.
“I got a couple of the kids off the street first after they started falling out of the car. They were hysterical,” she recalled. The women told News 5 that the scene was chaotic, with children between ages 2 and 12 suffering various degrees of injuries. The child with the worst injuries, who they believe was Dai’Nyla, was unconscious when they arrived.
“He took all five people to the emergency room. If it wasn’t for him, they probably would have all died,” Torres said. “He should never have done what he’s done and left the scene like it was nothing,” Torres said. “It’s not fair, and that little girl’s life is gone.”
