Commercial property developer Julian Ackad has built a new service station in Lismore , a city prone to flooding. He has implemented engineering and design solutions to make the station flood-proof, including automated concrete barriers that will protect the front of the shop from fast-moving water and debris.
Although this will reduce the profitability of the development, Ackad believes it will make the station more attractive to future investors.
