A recent backflip by the Daniel Andrews Government has been criticised as an election PR stunt by a Melbourne Bayside community frustrated by the lack of local consultation.
Mr Andrews came to power in 2014 with a signature policy to remove 50 level crossings by 2022 and as he campaigns for a third term in office, this promise has been bolstered to 110 by 2030.
Local Liberal MP Brad Rowswell criticised the Andrews Government for a lack of local consultation on the project and said it was indicative of a government that was out of touch with the community in an exclusive interview with SkyNews.com.au. Following Mr Andrews Frankston line announcement, Mr Rowswell conducted a local survey of almost 400 households asking two questions about the closure.
