Sky News host Chris Kenny says “you’ll be staggered” at what the diet of a dugong named ‘Pig’ at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium is now costing due to the impacts of inflation.
Mr Kenny discussed the matter with senior dugong keeper Dayna Plater.
“We were once upon a time paying about $7200. We are now currently paying about $18,000 a month,” she said. “We are not looking for an alternative here, we are always going to try the best opportunity to give this animal what is required, what he needs – and Pig is a VIP.”
