Donald Trump has told a crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Texas that the next Congress and president need to prioritise removing “rogue bureaucrats” and rooting out the “deep state”.
Mr Trump highlighted the need for congressional reform to empower the president to ensure “corrupt, incompetent, or unnecessary” federal employees can be fired.
“It’s time to clean house in Washington DC, and we did a lot of it but nobody knew that deep state was that deep,” he said.
