The US President's age, weight and gender place him at significantly greater risk of suffering severe health problems due to his coronavirus infection, medical experts warn.
Dr van de Mortel said patients who got very sick and ended up in intensive care could develop adult respiratory distress syndrome, which is prone to developing into multiple organ failure, such as cardiac problems and renal failure.
Dr van de Mortel said it was likely Mr Trump's medical staff would be closely monitoring his condition.It is not known how long Mr Trump has been infected with the virus, but Dr van de Mortel said even asymptomatic patients could be infectious.
