Sydney Airport has revealed why dozens of flights were cancelled overnight as it issued a travel message to those heading interstate for the school holidays.
A severe weather warning of 70mm of rain in New South Wales over Thursday was issued on Wednesday, which alarmed airline operators of possible disruptions.
Virgin, Qantas, Jetstar and Rex were all forced to cancel flights due to weather warnings.
