Dozens of people involved in bus brawl in Melbourne's south-east
Police used capsicum spray to break up a brawl involving dozens of youths in Melbourne's south-east last night.Police said a fight broke out between two groups of youths as they boarded a bus near Chelsea stationAn 18-year-old man was arrested but later released pending further enquiries
Several police units went to the Chelsea station about 9:30pm, after receiving reports of up to 50 people"causing trouble, pushing and yelling", police said in a statement. Police said the youth had been moved on from the beach area by officers who had been searching for weapons.A fight broke out between two groups as about 30 of the youths boarded a bus.
Several people were taken to Chelsea police station and given water after being sprayed with capsicum spray.About 20 of the youths then walked to Chelsea station, where transit police officers monitored them before they caught trains to Caulfield and Springvale. Police arrested an 18-year-old man who was released while police make further enquiries about his possible involvement in several incidents during the night.
