A new walking technique has been praised by Dr Michael Mosley for giving health benefits
It is common knowledge that walking is one of the easiest forms of exercise that you can incorporate into your daily life. Getting your steps in has been proven to have multiple benefits for your physical and mental health.
The Mirror reports walking backwards is a method that is used by physiotherapists regularly but, according to Dr Mosley, it can improve your health in many ways despite how strange it might look. He claims that it can "improve your gait, balance and mobility" and advises people to give it a go as physiotherapists use this technique a lot to "rehabilitate lower leg injuries."
"So if you're wondering where you put those keys, perhaps a short stroll backwards will jog your memory." Walking backwards can be done outside however Dr Mosley advises people to be careful when doing it by starting slowly and doing "a few steps, then build up".
