Incoming Dragons coach Shane Flanagan has been dealt a huge blow before a ball has been kicked in his first pre-season at the club.Amone, who had pleaded not guilty to assault charges, will be sentenced on December 6 and faces a maximum penalty of seven years in jail.
Flanagan has however just signed his son Kyle from the Bulldogs and the 25-year-old has played 70 of his 79 NRL games in the halves. The Dragons also have young playmaker Paul Turner on their books but he’s played just 11 NRL games and only three at five-eighth. Knights utility Kurt Mann is also available for 2024 and has played 33 of his 178 NRL games at five-eighth, while Roosters 28-year-old Drew Hutchison is another option.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to the Super League but for the right price could add valuable depth cover at the Dragons.
