Police dramatically arrested a group of teenagers in Applecross, Perth during an alleged armed robbery, in new bodycam footage released by Western Australia Police. 9News
The bodycam footage shows the moment police arrest one teenager after he allegedly tried to run the officers over with his car at Applecross.Police Dog Boogie can also be seen being deployed on foot and finding another teenager hiding in a nearby bush.
In the footage, police can be heard telling the teenagers to "get on the ground" and warning them that they "may be injured" by Police Dog Boogie if they move unexpectedly. Seven teenagers were eventually charged in connection to a crime-spree that wreaked havoc on Perth residents, including armed robbery, assault, stealing and unlicensed driving.
The gang started on Monday night in Southern River, allegedly breaking into a home and stealing three cars.On Tuesday, police say the group assaulted a man at knifepoint in Huntingdale, in Perth's southeast. That night, they allegedly robbed a supermarket in Byford with hammers.Police allege that those hammers were also used in the Applecross robbery.
"It would be extremely unsettling for any members of the community to be put through that and confronted by offenders armed with weapons in such a violent nature", said Detective Senior Sargent Curtis Roe.
