The Albanese government is facing pressure to take a hard line against China after concerns over its coercive tactics in the South Pacific were reignited by recent hostilities towards the Australian Navy.

Beijing ’s aggressive military actions were thrust back into the spotlight on Monday after revelations a warplane hadin front of an Australian Defence Force helicopter operating off HMAS Hobart in international waters of the Yellow Sea.

They have put Australian lives at risk and that is completely unacceptable.”
