Lludi Coria has been named the village of Carpentersville’s Volunteer of the Year. Coria was cited for “consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to making a difference in the lives of others,” a village announcement said. “Her passion for helping others is evident in her tireless efforts to support local organizations and initiatives.
Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m. for best car by the decade, spookiest car, best in show and best Halloween costume, according to the society’s website. The first 50 cars that enter will receive dash plaques. The free show is a fundraiser for the society. Entry fee is $20 per vehicle. For more information, call Humberto Garcia at 847-800-5124.
