Robyn Austin fell in love with taxidermy at the age of five, after seeing stuffed birds in her father's workplace. She knows what she does divides opinion, but is transfixed 'by animals, nature and art'.

From the age of five, when she visited her father's office and saw a stuffed eagle and emu, she fell in love with the idea of taxidermy."From those very early years I've always been besotted by animals, nature and art."in the New South Wales Blue Mountains.

"I put it in my car and took it to my friend's house and said to him, 'While I'm here, can I skin this fox?'" "The birds I find have normally died as a result of flying into cars … I've always got a knife and a plastic bag in my car so I can run out and get them," Robyn said.However, that's now changed to allow the sale of five native birds a year.
