Transport Minister Jo Haylen is facing increasing pressure over a scandal involving a public servant doing political work in her office.
Premier Chris Minns said on Saturday he has faith in all his ministers after Transport Minister Jo Haylen became embroiled in an employment scandal involving a junior public servant doing political work in her office, despite being banned from such activities.
, including corresponding with lobbyists on the launch of an e-scooter trial and drafting lines for Haylen in response to opposition questions in parliament. Documents released on Friday showed Gartrell, in his capacity as Haylen’s chief of staff, had declared that Ash would not be required to undertake any political work and would be excluded from any political conversations.“I ... will not require the DLO to perform party political activities, and will exclude the DLO from any meetings where political matters are discussed,” read the declaration signed by Gartrell on April 27.
