The son of iconic Australian TV journalist George Negus has posted a devastating update on his father’s battle with a disease.

His son Ned Negus recently posted a somber update on his father’s health, which was accompanied by a touching image of the pair warmly embracing on a beach.“But then realised you're all humans and there's always a place for sharing human realities with your professional network.” He noted the photo was taken by his mother, Negus’ partner of about 40 years, saying she was by his father’s side often and helped him to remember “even the slightest thing”.“Massive shout out to her too,” Ned wrote.His last major public appearance was in November 2020 at a memorial for former 60 Minutes executive producer Gerald Stone.
