Former prime minister — and avid Cronulla Sharks fan — Scott Morrison has revealed he has handed in his No.1 ticketholder status at the NRL club. Morrison made the announcement on Facebook yesterday ahead of the Sharks game at at Cronulla’s PointsBet Stadium on Friday night. It was a good night for the Sharks, downing Canterbury 25-6, and Morrison was there to soak it all in. But fans were caught unaware when the news was broken on the loudspeaker that Morrison was no longer the club’s No.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my association with the club in this role and am deeply grateful for the club giving me that honour over the past eight seasons, and will look forward to continuing to be a passionate supporter in the many years ahead. “I am so proud of everything the Sharks have achieved on and off the field during my time as No.1 ticket holder, especially the 2016 victory.
